Blog #1: Soft Launch (Redux)
I would like to apologize for the original “What is this place?” post on the homepage of this website when I launched it over the weekend. The reaction was far different than I had anticipated.
I have broken down that original post into a few key points, which I will list below:
For the past three years, I worked seven days a week with a full-time job & as a co-owner of a brewery/music venue. The never-ending work was very taxing on my relationships. In September, I accepted an offer and sold my ownership share in the brewery - at a major financial loss. While I know that it was the right move for me to make on a personal level, it has resulted in me feeling like an absolute failure. I’ll need a little time to come out the other side.
During the stressful years of non-stop work, I know that I turned to vices to cope more than I should have. I am now attempting to make better decisions to improve my health and well-being.
I am trying to use this time of change to reconnect with outlets that I haven’t used in quite some time - painting, writing, making music, etc. My happiest days have always been spent holed up in a bedroom writing and recording music. There is no better feeling than creating something that wasn’t there before.
Want to connect on a project? Send me an email. Let’s talk. I’m open to any and all possibilities at this point in time.
XO, JP
P.S. I’m going to feature a song on each of my blog posts that relates to what I am writing - or what I am feeling at the time. Today’s song is ‘Feel Free’, by Jeff Tweedy. Enjoy.
